The medical device company Bone Support AB based in Lund, which specializes in spinal disorders, has acquired Ultrazonix Holding AB, which has developed a new ultrasound based method for treatment of herniated discs. The acquisition is made through a new issue in kind. The acquisition allows Bone Support AB to broaden its product offering and strengthen its position in the market for treatment of spinal disorders.
Simultaneously with the acquisition of Ultrazonix Holding AB, Bone Support AB executed a new share issue of MSEK 122 in order to guarantee a continued expansion. The capital contribution will predominantly be utilized for market investments and an extensive clinical program to prepare for the introduction of future products within the EU and in selected markets such as the U.S. and Canada. The new share issue is one of the largest within the health care sector in Sweden during 2008.
